Suns star Kevin Durant has officially joined the exclusive NBA all-time scoring list, becoming the eighth player to reach 30,000 career points. Durant achieved this milestone against the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night, sinking a free throw late in the third quarter of his 1,101st career game. He has multiple titles to his name.

Durant now shares this achievement with legendary players: LeBron James (41,623), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387), Karl Malone (36,928), Kobe Bryant (33,643), Michael Jordan (32,292), Dirk Nowitzki (31,560), and Wilt Chamberlain (31,419). Julius Erving also surpassed this mark when combining his NBA and ABA points.
Despite Durant’s 34-point performance, the Suns fell 119-112 to the Grizzlies.
Reflecting on his accomplishment, Durant expressed gratitude for being part of the NBA all-time scoring list.
“It’s an honor to be mentioned with those who shaped and advanced the game,” Durant said. “I just aim to get the most out of myself every day.”
Fastest Players to 30,000 Points
Durant reached the milestone in the same number of games as Abdul-Jabbar (1,101). Only Chamberlain (941 games) and Jordan (960) reached 30,000 points faster. Suns coach Mike Budenholzer praised Durant’s dedication:
“We’re amazed by his work ethic, commitment, and attention to detail. He’s a special player and person.”
Durant’s Scoring Legacy
A 15-time All-Star, Durant has averaged at least 20 points per game in every season. His career average stands at 27.1 points per game, shooting 52.8% this season.
He accumulated 17,566 points with the Oklahoma City Thunder, 5,374 with the Golden State Warriors, 3,744 with the Brooklyn Nets, and 3,324 with the Suns. His total stands at 30,008—and counting—cementing his place on the NBA all-time scoring list.
With his unique combination of size, skill, and efficiency, Durant remains one of the most effortless scorers in basketball history.
