ASAP Rocky Court Case Ends in Acquittal Amid Emotional Scenes
Fans erupt as ASAP Rocky walks free after a tense courtroom showdown. Justice prevails in the ASAP Rocky court case.

ASAP Rocky Court Case concluded with an emotional moment as the rapper leaped into Rihanna’s arms upon hearing the not guilty verdict. The Los Angeles courtroom erupted in cheers as ASAP Rocky, born Rakim Mayers, embraced his partner, family, and legal team. The high-profile ASAP Rocky Court Case centered around two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm.

The jury deliberated for just three hours after a three-week trial, ultimately determining there was reasonable doubt regarding his guilt. Rocky, visibly emotional, thanked the jurors as they exited. His legal victory came after rejecting a plea deal offering six months in jail and probation. Believing in his innocence, he placed his fate in the jury’s hands—and won.

Judge Mark Arnold dismissed Rocky from court following the verdict. Rihanna, who had attended parts of the trial, hugged defense attorneys before leaving with their two children. As the couple exited, they navigated through a massive crowd of reporters and fans. Rocky described the past four years as “crazy” but expressed gratitude for his freedom.

After the verdict, defense attorney Joe Tacopina criticized the prosecution’s case, calling Relli a “pathological liar.” Prosecutors maintained that fame should not grant immunity, stressing their commitment to justice. However, jurors reached their decision without needing to explain their reasoning.

Despite the trial, Rocky’s career continues to thrive. He is set to headline Rolling Loud, co-chair the Met Gala, and star alongside Denzel Washington in Spike Lee’s upcoming film. The ASAP Rocky Court Case may have threatened his future, but with his name cleared, he moves forward without the weight of legal uncertainty.

Background
Prosecutors alleged that Rocky had an altercation with a former friend, ASAP Relli, in November 2021. They claimed Rocky fired two shots, one grazing Relli’s knuckle. However, the defense argued Rocky used a prop gun loaded with blanks, firing only as a warning while defending a crew member. The jury had to consider whether Rocky reasonably believed he or his friends faced imminent harm.
