The Air Force reinstated training materials featuring the historic Tuskegee Airmen after a temporary delay to adjust its courses following the Trump administration’s rollback of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. The issue was resolved as Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth started his first day at the Pentagon.
In a post on X, Hegseth confirmed that any decision to cut the training was “immediately reversed.” However, the confusion highlights ongoing challenges as Defense Department leaders work to remove diversity-related content from websites and training.
While Hegseth did not address the matter directly upon his arrival on Monday alongside Gen. CQ Brown Jr., chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, he emphasized that military training will prioritize readiness and field preparedness to counter adversaries.
