Trump Gaza is making headlines as U.S. President Donald Trump promotes a controversial plan for the region. In an AI-generated video posted on his Truth Social account, Trump envisions Gaza as a luxurious resort similar to Gulf states, featuring a golden statue of himself, a hummus-eating Elon Musk, and American and Israeli leaders lounging on a beach.
The video begins with Palestinian children walking through Gaza’s rubble. A title card asks, “What’s next?” before transitioning to a modern skyline along Gaza’s coast. A voice sings, “Donald’s coming to set you free. Trump Gaza shining bright. Golden future, a brand-new light. Feast and dance. The deed is done.”
Throughout the video, bikini-clad dancers, a child holding a Trump-shaped golden balloon, and Musk dancing under falling U.S. dollars appear. The video closes with Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sipping drinks on a beachfront.
Wassel Abu Yousuf of the Palestine Liberation Organization dismissed the video as a “clowning gimmick.” He stated, “There will not be resorts or a Middle East riviera. Trump Gaza cannot happen at the expense of Palestinians.”
Arab leaders met in Riyadh to discuss an alternative approach. The UAE emphasized that any reconstruction plan must include a clear path to Palestinian statehood.
Egypt, which Trump suggested should take in displaced Gazans, leads efforts for an alternative three-year, $20 billion redevelopment plan. Egyptian Minister Hassan El Khatib rejected external pressure, affirming Palestinians’ right to remain on their land.
As the video ends, a voice sings, “No more tunnels, no more fear. Trump Gaza is finally here!” The proposal remains highly contentious, with strong opposition from Palestinian leaders and limited international support.
