Who Is Angel Reese, and Why Is Her McDonald’s Collaboration Historic?

Angel Reese made history as the first female athlete to collaborate with McDonald’s for a special meal. The fast-food chain introduced the menu item during a Super Bowl ad featuring Reese, Breanna Stewart, and Lisa Leslie. On Monday, McDonald’s made the limited-time meal available for both in-store and app purchases across various locations.

Angel Reese announced her McDonald’s partnership, expressing excitement about the collaboration. She recalled enjoying McChicken sandwiches as a child and being named a McDonald’s All-American in 2020. “It’s really a dream come true to be the first-ever female athlete with my own meal,” she stated. She also hopes the meal will inspire young athletes to keep chasing their dreams.

The Angel Reese Special meal features a Quarter Pounder with cheese, bacon, onions, and pickles. It also includes a new smoky Bold BBQ sauce, fries, and a Hi-C Orange Lavaburst or a soft drink of choice. Prices for the meal vary depending on the location, and it is available for a limited time.

Grammy-nominated rapper Latto congratulated Reese by sharing a photo of herself enjoying the meal. Reese responded by reposting Latto’s Instagram story and adding, “Big mama so pretty.” Breanna Stewart and Lisa Leslie also celebrated the launch on social media.

McDonald’s continues strengthening its basketball legacy with this collaboration. The company has previously worked with athletes and celebrities for special meals. Reese’s partnership marks a significant milestone for female athletes in brand endorsements.

McDonald’s commercials featuring Angel Reese, Stewart, and Leslie highlight the importance of representation in sports and branding. The campaign aims to connect with young athletes and basketball fans across the country.

The limited-time meal encourages fans to celebrate basketball culture while enjoying their favorite McDonald’s items. Reese’s collaboration shows the growing influence of female athletes in major brand partnerships. Fans can order the meal in stores or through the app while supplies last.
