With its release approaching, the first gameplay trailer for MLB The Show 25 has been officially revealed, showcasing major upgrades. San Diego Studio continues to enhance the franchise with fresh features based on player feedback. This new trailer offers a glimpse into the improvements and introduces former MLB legends making their series debut.
Lasting just over two minutes, the trailer highlights MLB The Show 25’s enhanced visuals and key gameplay upgrades over its predecessor. One of the most notable additions is the option to play high school and collegiate baseball in Road to the Show, the game’s create-a-player mode. Alongside this expansion, the mode now includes an overhauled progression system and interactive quick-time events.
For Diamond Dynasty, MLB The Show 25 is eliminating Sets and Seasons, a change San Diego Studio confirmed earlier. Additionally, two new game modes—Diamond Quest and Weekend Classic—have been introduced. Diamond Quest is described as a strategic, risk-and-reward board game-like mode, while Weekend Classic allows players to compete for exclusive rewards.
Gameplay improvements extend beyond modes, as MLB The Show 25 introduces a fresh difficulty setting, refined animations, and an “ambush” hitting system for key situations. These refinements aim to create a more immersive and dynamic baseball experience.
Another major reveal in the trailer is the long-awaited inclusion of MLB legends Roger Clemens and Manny Ramirez. Both icons have been among the most requested additions by fans, marking their long-overdue arrival in the series. More classic players are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
MLB The Show 25 is set for release on March 18th for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders are now available through major retailers and digital storefronts.
